We recognise that if we are to succeed, our people need quick access to high quality learning interventions for developing their skills, knowledge and expertise. The company is focused on the continued skill development of staff and in making career development a mutual accountability through the implementation of more effective internal career management systems and processes.
Our Approach
The aim of learning and development within KAZ is to provide our people with access to learning and development opportunities which are aligned to their identified development needs and career aspirations. As an organisation we aim to ensure our people have the capability to meet current and future business needs.
We do this by ensuring that learning and development activities are:
- planned and integrated with the performance management cycle reviewed on a regular basis
- agreed between the individual and their manager with ownership for development resting with the individual
- primarily on the job with support through various forms of training as appropriate.
KAZ values the role of learning and development in creating an engaged and skilled workforce. We have a Talent Management Program to recognise and foster our highly skilled employees.
KAZ has also developed a comprehensive Leadership Program which is available to all staff through our intranet and includes information such as:
- The KAZ Leadership Competencies
- Management Articles and relevant materials
- Development and training opportunities aligned to the KAZ Leadership competencies
We also have a Study Assistance Policy which includes a range of study leave options and financial support to employees who wish to further their professional skills development.
