IBM WebSphere® DataPower Appliances

A simple way to accelerate, secure and integrate a Service Oriented Architecture

DataPower Appliances are network devices purpose-built to optimise the deployment and performance of Web Services.

Working at the application level, the Appliances connect diverse applications and infrastructure while resolving the key issues of performance, security, integration and governance. They provide a simple, practical and cost-effective approach to deployment that can deliver immediate business returns and help you realise the benefits of SOA sooner. All in a convenient, out-of-the box solution.

Hardware and software neutral, the Appliances are designed to fit easily into any existing IT environment. There’s no need to change your network or application software. Nor do you require proprietary coding or application programming interfaces.

XA35 Acceleration Appliance

The XA35 Acceleration Appliance is designed to improve the speed of XML-based Web Services traffic. The XA35 caches and compresses XML and employs advanced processing methods to accelerate throughput and minimise application latency. This can dramatically reduce the burden on existing servers and the need to invest in extra computing resources.

XS40 Security Appliance

The XS40 Security Appliance improves the security of XML-based Web Services. The XS40 offers a full suite of threat management capabilities that support both legacy and emerging standards. The Appliance can parse, filter, decrypt and encrypt XML messages, sign and verify signatures, control access and more – all at wire speed. At the same time, the Security Appliance accelerates Web Services traffic and minimises application latency.

XI50 Integration Appliance

The XI50 Integration Appliance is designed to simplify the way you deploy, manage and secure XML-based Web Services. The Integration Appliance is a message translator, security gateway and router in the one network device. It transforms different message formats such as Binary to XML and vice-versa, or Binary to Binary. It also bridges multiple protocols including MQ, HTTP, FTP and JMS. As a router, the XI50 boosts the speed of XML traffic and reduces application latency. The XI50 also offers a full suite of security capabilities. (View Brochure)
